A Peek Inside

Farewell, Beautiful Bowie January 12 2016, 0 Comments

We've lost a true fashion innovator with the passing of David Bowie. Ziggy Stardust, the Thin White Duke, Major Tom. Bowie easily morphed from Mod to Glam, from New Romantic to Electronic. Bowie showed the world that androgyny was cool, men in high heels are fabulous and all the many outcasts and freaks among us can be anyone we want. He created the soundtrack to countless lives, and influenced thousands of artists and muscians to pursue their dreams. The world would be a lesser place had Bowie never graced our planet. The stars do look very different today.

Today is Sesame Street's 44th birthday! I was born in 1969 2 weeks after this show went on the air in 1969 and have grown up in a world where Sesame Street was always present...for both myself and my daughter when she was little. Sesame Street has not only been a wonderful show for the work of the writers and Muppets but for the amazing array of celebrities that have guest starred over the decades! We're taking a look at highlights today over on the Facebook page...come on over and play!

Harry Belafonte with The Count...

Johnny Cash...

Jim Henson with his creations, Bert & Ernie...

Julie Andrews and Miss Piggy....

Richard Belzer and his Muppet twin....

Buffy St. Marie with Big Bird....

And an amazing video of Paul Simon singing "Me & Julio" with a charming and talented little girl!
