Cornflower Blue and Ivory Silk Tea Dress with Beading and Embroidery circa 1910s
Edwardian era cornflower blue silk dress with ivory lace bodice and neckline. Art Nouveau embroidered design on bodice lace. Sheer silk overlay in same textile as the overlay on skirt, which stops several inches above the hem of dress. Beaded at hem and sleeves. Blue overlay of sleeves is open at shoulder, showing the ivory lace through opening. Cord detail at waist accented at each side with a damask silk. Opening in back- ivory solid silk inside hooks up back, silk pieces snap or hook over it. Some shattering under arms, some spots on silk overlay on skirt- imperfect, but such an exquisite design! From a store called "Alwin" of Chicago.
