Gorgeous and chic charcoal grey nubby wool late 1950s custom couture suit by Christian Dior. Numbered label, client name (Artaban, which may have been the owner of the House of Artaban, a small design house in Galerie du Lido). Likely from '58 or '59. Has original metal tag inside sleeve. 

High pockets on cropped jacket, boxy cut, cuffed sleeves. Fully lined in silk. Large buttons on front of jacket and skirt. Skirt has back metal zip and snap/hook and eye, elastic bands at sides of waist to snug waistband, heavy silk lined around hips, generous deep hem. Some wear to wool at closure beneath overlap, not obvious when worn. No stains or holes. A rare find in a great timeless silhouette and style.


Jacket measures 36" bust, 34" waist, 17" long, 17" sleeves

Skirt measures 25" waist, 38" hips, 28" long
